Gameplay takes place on a gas giant with a frozen core and the surrounding asteroid belt. How will House Caligaris fare when the Jihad arrives... after all they have enough trouble controlling their slave-prison workers, surviving despite complete reliance on the Guild for supplies and their minor house for troops, keeping agreements with the Bene Tleilax, avoiding hte Bene Gesserit and living with an age-old feud with the Imperial House. |

Elf vs. Orc A Brutal and Awesome Fight in our Burning Wheel Campaign, Ithaca, N.Y., 2006 In the next to last session of our Burning Wheel campaign the Herald of the Dawn and He Who Rules by Sword, Whip and Spell clashed in the north. I was ready to kill Aaron's character and he damn well knew it. He was ready to die to take this bad-ass orc out. The dice decided the Herald's fate. |

The Last Stand of Ur-Baron George W. Washington Get Your Geek On-a-thon 4, Ithaca, N.Y., 2005 Colony 76 was a wreckage. Once a green planet of rolling hills, tabbac plantations and domed slave clone vat factories was now blotted with craters, choked with refugees and beseiged by Jihadi Soldiers sent by the Mahdi Emperor. The Syndicate stepped in and declared the conflict no longer profitable and offered one of their ships in low orbit as a meeting place for the peace talks. Ur-Baron George W. Washington arrived in full splendor with his Analyst Assassin Benyamin Franklin, his witchling daughter, Jaqueline Washington and his newly appointed war leader, Slave-at-Arms 18.62. The Ur-Baroness Martha had been killed in a recent terrorist bombing. The Jihadi sent their Revered Matron Mother who had lost a son in the seige of the planet and her second son, newly appointed as Commander. An Old Soldier, bitter from the recent struggle's losses and the Holy Judge, a mad-eyed desert zealot all met the nobles in the Syndicate ship, to see if peace could be found amidst the rubble and the blood. Vault Ithaca, N.Y., 2005 In the center of the world and the center-piece of the game is a domed city of Vault. The dome is a great vault door that seals hell from the surface world. The year+ campaign we played with Burning Wheel when the revised book came out. |
